2020 has been quite a year. From shut downs to permanent changes in school and work for months on end it has us looking at life differently. Holidays and traditions changed at the blink of an eye. Those kinds of changes can send our nervous system and brain reeling from the overwhelming sensory input of trying to figure it all out at the same time.
I thought and planned to get SO MUCH DONE in the first few months Yet no matter how much I’d try sometimes have no energy to move even knowing my goals.
Yet I still see and feel so many other women in the feeling that “I/we should have done more”
That belief is so unhelpful and I’m here to put a spin on how we treat ourselves for the rest of the year instead of being hard on ourselves, going through many first things in life for the first time. If anything, we should begin to look for gratitude in getting this far.
For keeping our babies safe.
For getting up another day.
For not knowing what things will look like next year, but still putting a smile on for today.
Here is a reminder to give yourself grace as we navigate through a new norm and that you deserve love too! I’ve created The Ultimate Self Love Guide with you in mind to give you 4 simple self love practices you can do at home.
Those 4 Practices are–
High Vibe Clean Eating– One of the best ways I take care of myself is eating clean. Eating clean, whole foods is amazing for your body helping it to regulate weight and stress levels. You can take it a step further and look into things like your body type in Ayurveda or the Blood Type Diet. What you eat makes a huge difference in how you feel, that’s why I included an easy to follow High Vibe Cleanse in the The Ultimate Guide to Self Love.
Practicing Yoga– I’m always sharing about how awesome Yoga is for the body. I began to be even more grateful for switching to it long before the shut down of gyms. It’s a great way to move your body at home, little to no equipment, and you don’t have to do it for a long time to see and feel the benefits. One of my biggest suggestions is taking the time to be intentional with your practice, especially in the beginning. Doing small things like making a cute yoga space or putting on new workout gear can give you boosts of inspiration to get started. I made it even easier for you by putting together 7 beginner friendly yoga flows you can access FOREVER.
Saying Affirmations– This is one of the most magical practices I do everyday and it makes a huge difference in how I feel about myself. I can feel when I haven’t said them in a while, I’m normally really hard on myself and I start feeling disconnected. Affirmations are my favorite way to rewire old, negative beliefs that no longer serve us. I think of them as planting positive seeds for an uplifting future. The key is to remember to water them (you), consistently.
Energy Healing– Learning Reiki has had such a profound transformation in my self love practice. While dealing with some of the most transitions during 2020, I found a way to naturally heal and manage my emotional/energetic body. This allows me to feel more calm, level headed, and more confident when big things are happening. This is also something you can learn, or you can try a small sample of it in guided energy healing meditation in The Ultimate Guide to Self Love.
We’re coming into the tail end of back to school season while looking at the holidays on the horizon. Don’t forget to take some time for you, give yourself some compassion, and practice self love in these up and coming months. If you can take care of everyone, you can take care of you too! And when things get hard- refer to the title of this post 🙂
