3 Great Things about Pittsburgh in the Fall: Come check it out!

Hoodie weather. Need I say more? This post is for my fellow fall lovers.  We wait patiently during the other 3 seasons and as soon as that first fall breeze hits we’re in total happiness.  It’s our cue to pull out the sweaters, fall decorations, and get ready for Halloween.  Pumpkin lattes, apple cider, and cool nights are just some of the wonderful things about fall. From pumpkin patches to haunted trails there are plenty of activities for you and your family.  Not only do we get this lovely weather, we get to have it in Pittsburgh.  After a season of Pirates, we get to gear up for Steelers and Penguins season. Here we go, Steelers, here we go! I could go on and on about why Pittsburgh is amazing in the fall but I picked 3 things that are my favorites.

  1. The scenery makes the perfect backdrop for pictures!  Here are my some pictures from my maternity shoot.  It was so fun and the pictures came out great.  Everywhere you go in the ‘Burgh during the fall there is beautiful foliage everywhere.  Our parks and wooded areas become colored with different hues that are very pleasing to the eye.  Maybe this fall will inspire you to schedule a  photo shoot for your family.
  2. Plenty of festivities are available.  Since we’re in Southwestern Pa, we’re surrounded by farms that have family friendly pumpkin patches and fun fall activities.  You can pick pumpkins or dare to go down haunted trails. Kennywood has Fright Night that is definitely worth visiting.  A walk in the park is even more fun because of all the pretty fall colors.  Halloween in Pittsburgh is big so it’s not a night you want to miss.   After that we look forward to the Thanksgiving parade.                                                        pumpkinpatch
  3. Pumpkin everything! Pumpkin pie, pumpkin lattes, and pumpkin rolls start rolling out.  I’m sure you can get them anywhere but we’re in the Burgh! Take this time to check out our local bakeries for fall goodies.  Pumpkin stuff is amazing, but we can’t forget about apple cider.  A warm cup of apple cider is the perfect on a chilly fall night.   You can also go apple picking along with pumpkins.  Painting pumpkins is a kid friendly activity that is fun for everyone.     paintpumpkin

Of course when fall comes there are other areas that are beautiful at this time of year.  We’re in Pittsburgh so that makes fall even better.  We have so many places to see with the scenic background where ever you go.  This autumn take your family out to a fall festivity and go on a hay ride or leaf pile jumping.  No matter what you choose do take advantage of this lovely time.  You’ll have fun and get great pictures to go with the memories.  Tell us your fall traditions you do with your family.  Like and share on Facebook with your friends!
