We Celebrated in Style at Painting With a Twist

Pittsburgh Moms Blog recently celebrated our one year anniversary with our contributors, readers and friends at Painting With a Twist’s newest studio in Pittsburgh – their East Liberty location. We were so thrilled to celebrate at PWAT, this being our second event with them in as many months.

We started the evening off with friends and food:

Our main course, baked ziti from Pasta Too in Bethel Park, paired nicely with some Costco veggie trays and pastries.

Soon enough it was time for speeches. Meghan Meabon, our fearless leader (PMB’s owner and founder) recapped our first year as Pittsburgh’s top parenting website. While sales and events manager Carissa Howard (me) thanked all our fabulous readers, writers, and sponsors.

Next, we handed the evening over to Rachel, our art teacher for the evening, who reminded us that we weren’t making mistakes, just happy little accidents.

We started our masterpieces – a Starry Night inspired beach scene.

Some people painted this scene with a partner, lining up two canvasses side-by-side, some as a single. Both rookies and seasoned painting vets showed off their artistic skills, as we customized our own unique beaches. We had over 30 painters in attendance for the evening.

Our contributing writers who attended showed off their Pittsburgh Moms Blog pride:

And, of course, no birthday party would be complete without a birthday cake, which we enjoyed while our canvases dried before our finishing touches. This delicious dessert was provided by Lincoln Bakery in Bellevue:

Ripepi Winery supplied and served all of the wine from dry reds to sweet whites. Can you believe that they locally grow all their own grapes right in Monongahela, PA? A great place to add to your summer-to-do list this year as Ripepi Winery and Vineyard has lots of great family-friendly activities and events all season long.

So, remember Painting with a Twist at their convenient Pittsburgh locations (Painting with a Twist – Pittsburgh West (Robinson Township); Painting with a Twist (Mt. Lebanon / South Hills); and Painting with a Twist (East Liberty)) for your next kids’ party, corporate event, play date, baby shower, bridal party, or moms night out. They offer work shops and private parties 7 days a week, both during the day and evening.

Check out these classes for kids over Spring Break. East Liberty’s full calendar for both kids and adults this month here.

Until we meet (paint) again.
