When I first opened a bag of Cheeky Monkey Peanut Butter Puffs, the peanut butter smell was unmistakable. I love peanut butter, so I thought that was a great first impression! Cheeky Monkey is 100% organic, non-GMO, high protein, and has no added sugar. What caught my interest even more though was the science behind this product.
Before I go deeper into my review though, I have to be cautious and also add that it is always best to consult with your child’s pediatrician if your infant has an egg allergy, eczema, or a family history of peanut allergy. My daughter does not have any sensitivities to peanuts, so I did not hesitate in allowing her to try this product.
If you could give your infant a shot to prevent peanut allergy would you? How about Cheeky Monkey instead?
Cheeky Monkey Peanut Butter Puffs were created to be a delicious and healthy snack for everyone, but they are also a safe way to introduce peanuts to infants. A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine showed that introducing peanut puffs to high-risk infants before 10 months of age reduced the risk of developing a peanut allergy.
In May of this year, the American Thoracic Society released a research study showing, “Children who had a diet that included cow’s milk products, egg and peanut before age one were less likely to develop sensitization to the corresponding foods”.
This is a pediatrician supported product (Dr. Ron Sunog has 27 years of experience, and is the Medical Director for this brand). Cheeky Monkey wants to spread the word about new research that encourages the early introduction of a safe-to-eat peanut food.
A Perfectly Delicious Healthy Snack for All
All of this research is new to me. I waited until my daughter was almost one to let her try peanut butter. I think if I had known about this product earlier, I wouldn’t have hesitated to allow her to try it (my husband and I don’t have any allergies to peanut butter).
My family thought they tasted great too! I always try a product before I feed it to my daughter, and these puffs were no exception. She loved them!
