Spring has finally arrived and with it, COLOR! You may have noticed lately that many styles and trends from the 80’s and 90’s have made a comeback. Well, it’s no different for makeup looks right now and makeup is currently embracing looks from the past. Let’s take a look at my top 5 favorite makeup looks for Spring which are also a breeze to pull off.
Peri (as in periwinkle)
Periwinkle is the color of the year for 2022. For those of you who aren’t quite sure what Peri looks like, it’s a cross between blue and lavender so when it comes to eyeshadows, you can totally go either way here with doing blues or purples. Choose shades that will make your natural eye color pop when rocking a periwinkle look.
Depending on the color of your eyes, these peri friendly shades would be most complimentary: Brown eyes– light/dark blues, navy and purples, Blue eyes– light blues and purples, Green eyes– deep purples and soft violets, Hazel eyes- deep plum and navy
Color Coordinated Looks
Color coordinating your makeup to your outfit or accessories is in. Have a hot pink lipstick you want to pair with a cute pair of hot pink pumps? Or a peachy blush to rock with the peach colored floral dress you plan to wear for Easter, then go for it girl because the options and colors are endless.
Heavy Blush
This sounds exactly like it is, but we want to avoid looking like a circus clown. Blush brightens up the face and adds a youthful look when applied well. Choose a cream or powder blush and instead of applying the blush on the apple of your cheek, apply a very generous amount on your temples and blend it out. Applying blush on your temples rather than the apples of your cheeks can give an instant facelift effect.
3 Point Highlighter
This is ideal for the minimalist. Apply a bit of shimmery highlighter to your brow arch, inner eye corners and cheekbones. Finish the look with some bronzer, mascara and gloss and you’re done.
