{Pittsburgh Moms Blog is thrilled to partner with HappyFeet Pittsburgh to bring you information about their amazing classes, leagues and community programs.}
It amazes me how in todays world kids are participating in a variety of programs at such a young age. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little hesitant to enroll my 2 year old son in an organized program but after experiencing HappyFeet classes I am so thankful we made the decision!
Now let me preface this with my son is two years old and this was his first experience involved in an organized program. As we drove to his first class I was preparing myself on how I was going to handle my child clinging to my leg and not wanting to follow directions. (Mom’s heart was racing a bit as the nerves began to grow.) Well…if anyone else out there thinks they would feel the same way I did – then have no fear! The atmosphere is inviting and laid back; it’s not intimidating at all for young children or moms:)
The second we stepped foot in the door we felt welcomed! All of the staff were extremely enthusiastic and energetic. Coach Ande and Coach Kat do an amazing job at making every kid feel important; the fact that they are able to organize a 30 minute class that holds the attention of 2-5 year olds is impressive! HappyFeet’s unique structure in designing an educational curriculum sensitive to the needs of young children is really what sets them apart from the typical soccer camp. For example, the soccer ball, AKA “Bob the Bobcat” had his birthday party during our most recent class. Watching all the children kick “Bob” around from “the store” to “the bakery” to “the birthday party” was so cute. All the kids were so into the celebration that they didn’t even realize the soccer skills of dribbling, trapping and passing were being learned. In all honesty it felt like my son (who demonstrates separation anxiety) had already previously met the coaches as he was high-fiving, running and talking with them like he had known them for years:)
Happy Feet classes are 30 minutes in length (National Association for Sports & Physical Education recommendation). Every child constantly has a ball. HappyFeet uses nursery rhymes, songs, stories and fun games with a soccer ball to maximize motor skill development. Two and three year olds love acting out nursery rhymes and songs. Four and five year olds have a blast with stories and fun games with “Bob the Bobcat!” Kids love taming their “Bobcat”!
Bring HappyFeet to your School or Daycare!
HappyFeet holds classes at daycares, preschools, PISA and community centers. Classes are offered both during the traditional day and as an after school program.
Classes can be performed both inside and out. Some of the common spaces used for HappyFeet classes include medium to large classrooms, lunchrooms, gymnasiums and outdoor playgrounds. The flexibility allows them to never cancel class due to weather!

The HappyFeet League is an excellent opportunity to see your little one further develop and showcase his/her HappyFeet soccer skills. The league curriculum maximizes fun and friendship to ensure your child always wants to come back! Parents & grandparents enjoy the league program as much as the kids!
I highly recommend having you and your little ones check out HappyFeet soon. I love how excited my 2 year old gets when I ask him if he wants to go play with “Bob the Bobcat.” He loved interacting with his peers and the friendly coaching staff while playing such a fun sport!
